In Matthew 2 we are told about three wise men that saw the star of Bethlehem and wanted to worship the newborn King, Jesus.

And when they came into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary, His mother, and fell down and worshipped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. – Matthew 2:11 MEV

These weren’t just any gifts they brought Jesus. They were treasures, expensive gifts. They were costly, highly valued, extravagant gifts. This was the wise men’s way of worshipping Jesus. They brought gifts that were fitting for a real king.

Throughout the year we receive financial gifts to support the Kingdom work we do through Dave Williams Ministries. Some people might not view their donations as worship, but Matthew chapter two demonstrates that it indeed is.

What gift will you give to worship Jesus?

Your gifts don’t need to be expensive like the Magi’s. Jesus praised a widow who gave the smallest of gifts. He praised her because that gift for her was a great sacrifice. Gifts from a heart of worship offered in sacrifice are always acceptable to Jesus.
