You become a member of the team by asking Jesus Christ to be your Captain!

When I was in the Navy, there were certain places the ship could not go unless the tide was in. If the captain tried to guide the ship into a channel that was too shallow, the bottom may get stuck.

So the ship and all the passengers had to wait out at sea until the tide came in and the channel’s water rose. It didn’t matter if everyone aboard griped and complained and hollered that they wanted to go ashore. The captain knew better than to pull the ship into port before the water level permitted.

Our captain (JESUS) knows when the “tide is in,” and when the answer should arrive. Trust him!

Come to Jesus as you are. Just one sin can keep a person from heaven … unless he has the Savior. Have you ever gossiped or lied? You’ve sinned. Have you ever dishonored your parents? You’ve sinned. Have you ever lusted? Or hated another person? You’ve sinned. You must acknowledge in the light of God’s Word that you are a sinner.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Luke 18:13
God be merciful to me a sinner.

You must see the awfulness of sin and then repent of it.

Luke 13:3
Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Acts 3:19
Repent ye therefore, and be converted that your sins maybe blotted out.

Admit your helplessness to save yourself and confess with your mouth that He is Lord

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Romans 10:10
With the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Confess not to men but to God.

Sorrow for sin is not enough in itself. We must want to be done with it once and for all.

Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord…for he will abundantly pardon.

Believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Ask Jesus to be your Savior and to give you a new start

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9
If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

By faith receive Jesus Christ as your only hope of ever having a home in heaven and a role in His Kingdom. You must personally receive Christ into your heart by faith, if the experience of the new Birth is to be yours.

John 1:11-12
He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

Let’s pray this prayer, and I know God will hear and forgive you. He’ll give you a new nature, and prepare a home in heaven for you.

Father in Heaven,
I come to you in the Name of Your Son, Jesus. I have sinned against you. Please forgive me and cleanse me. I believe Jesus died on the cross for me, and I believe He was raised from the dead and lives forevermore. Jesus, come into my heart and life. Be my Savior, my Lord, and my best friend. I trust you to give me a home in Heaven and a brand new start in life beginning now. Amen!

If you prayed that prayer, I’d love to give you a free download of my book, The New Life…The Start of Something Wonderful! You can download it here.
