Every morning, I plead the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ over my life (spirit, mind, and body). I plead the precious Blood of Jesus over my wife, my children, my staff, our church, our leaders, and our prayer partners.

I Peter 1:18-19 NLT
For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom he paid was not mere gold or silver. He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

The Blood of Jesus is precious and powerful. We were not redeemed by the traditions of the church elders. We were not redeemed with corruptible things like silver or gold. We were redeemed with the precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish or spot.

In a foreshadowing of the protecting power of the Blood, we see God instructing the Israelites in the Old Testament to put blood on the doorposts of their homes to protect the occupants from the Angel of Death. All who put the blood of a lamb on their doorposts were spared great tragedy and even death.

Exodus 18:7, 13
They are to take some of the lamb’s blood and smear it on the top and sides of the doorframe of the house where the lamb will be eaten.
The blood you have smeared on your doorposts will serve as a sign. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.

The Blood of Jesus is not only precious—it’s powerful! Think of it this way; Leviticus 17 tells us that life is in the Blood.

Leviticus 17:11 NLT
For the life of any creature is in its blood. I have given you the blood so you can make atonement for your sins. It is the blood, representing life, that brings you atonement.

Jesus Christ was 100 percent God, and 100 percent man. That means that the Blood of God Himself was flowing through the veins of Jesus. The Life of God was actually in His Blood because the life is in the blood.

When we plead the blood of Jesus over something, the very life of God goes into the situation. I want the life of God in me, on me, around me, and through me. I want the life of God in my family, my health, and my finances. I want the life of God in my problems so that the life of God can bring solutions. When I plead the Blood of Jesus, I’m pleading the life of God into a situation. Just look at the blessings of the Blood of Jesus:

  • Exodus 12:13, it protects us
  • Hebrews 9:22, it brings us forgiveness
  • Romans 5:9, it declares us righteous
  • Ephesians 2:13, it brings us near to God
  • Hebrews 13:20, it brings us success in our ministry and our work.

It’s so simple, why not do it?

Here’s how I plead the Blood of Jesus:

The Blood of our Lord Jesus is:

  • saving
  • healing
  • cleansing
  • delivering
  • protecting
  • miracle working

Therefore, I plead the precious Blood of Jesus over my:

  • Life (spirit, mind, and body)
  • Family (name them)
  • Property to which God has entrusted me
  • Future
  • Church and Pastor
  • City
  • State
  • Country

Start the day by speaking the Word, “This is the day the Lord has made. I, therefore, make a choice to rejoice and be glad in it.” And next, plead the Blood of Jesus over your life, (spirit, mind, and body) and then over everyone else you care about and know
